Queenie Trailer Previews Hulu’s Newest Dramedy Series

Hulu has released the official Queenie trailer for its upcoming comedy-drama, starring Dionne Brown (Criminal Record) as a woman going through a quarter-life crisis. The series is scheduled to make its debut on June 7.

“In the series, Queenie Jenkins is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in south London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither. After a messy breakup with her long-term boyfriend, Queenie seeks comfort in all the wrong places and begins to realize she has to face the past head-on before she can rebuild. The series is based on the best-selling novel by Candice Carty-Williams,” reads the synopsis.

Who’s involved in Queenie?

Queenie is written, created and executive produced by Candice Carty-Williams, who’s serving as the showrunner. It is based on the 2019 best-selling novel of the same name written by Carty-Williams. The series will also be led by singer-songwriter Bellah as Kyazike, and BAFTA nominee Samuel Adewunmi as Frank.

It is executive produced by Steve November, Sarah Conroy, and Lisa Walters, with Joelle Mae David and Makalla McPherson set as directors. The creative team also includes, writers Ryan Calais Cameron, Yolanda Mercy, Natasha Brown and Thara Popoola. It is a production by Further South Productions in association with Lionsgate TV.
