Max has released two new House of the Dragon Season 2 trailers, setting the release date for the highly anticipated next season of the Game of Thrones prequel series.
The new trailers, dubbed the “Black” and “Green” trailers, each show one of the different perspectives of King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra’s Green and Black councils as the two sides edge towards war. The House of the Dragon Season 2 release date is revealed at the end, with the new season set to debut on HBO on Sunday, June 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. It will also be available to stream on Max.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon chronicles the rise and the downfall of the Targaryens — the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria. It takes place 300 years before the events of the award-winning series adaptation of Game of Thrones, which aired its final episode in 2019.
Who stars in House of the Dragon?
Returning from Season 1 will be Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
Season 2’s newcomers include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
