Avatar: The Last Airbender Trailer Highlights King Bumi’s Live-Action Debut

Netflix has dropped another Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer for its live-action TV adaptation of the iconic animated series of the same name.

The video gives highlight to King Bumi, who has been a long-time favorite among fans due to his eccentric personality and incredible earthbending skills. Originally voiced by André Sogliuzzo, the character will now be played in live-action by Pitch Perfect’s Utkarsh Ambudkar, who is unrecognizable in the trailer. The series will start streaming on February 22.

What to expect in Avatar: The Last Airbender?

“Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope,” reads the synopsis.

Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender is written and executive produced by Sleepy Hollow’s Albert Kim, who is serving as the showrunner. It is directed by Michael Goi, Jabbar Raisani, Roseanne Liang and Jet Wilkinson.

The live-action TV adaptation is led by Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Joining them are Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Maria Zhang as Kyoshi warrior Suki, C.S. Lee as Avatar Roku, Amber Midthunder as Princess Yue, A Martinez as Pakku, Yvonne Chapman as Avatar Kyoshi, Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, Casey Camp-Horinek as Gran Gran and more.
