Launchpad Season 2 Trailer Unveils Six New Shorts for Disney+ Series

Disney+ has released the official Launchpad Season 2 trailer for the upcoming next installment to its anthology series. It will feature six new live-action shorts from underrepresented filmmakers, whose unique and evocative voices bring new perspectives to storytelling. The series is scheduled to make its return on September 29.

“The filmmakers of Disney Launchpad season two have taken their storytelling to new heights by developing six imaginative and inspiring stories for Disney+,” producer Phillip Domfeh said in a statement.

What to expect in Launchpad Season 2?

“This season showcases six writers, five directors and one writer-director from underrepresented backgrounds who were given the opportunity to share their perspectives and creative visions,” reads the synopsis. “Continuing the goal of Disney’s first season of Launchpad, which was to diversify the types of stories that are being told by giving access to those who historically have not had it, Launchpad Season 2 is proud to present six new shorts for Disney+ based on the theme of “connection.”

Launchpad Season 2 is a collection of six short films including Black Belts from director Spencer Glover, Beautiful FL from director Gabriela Ortega, The Ghost from director Erica Eng, Maxine from director Niki Ang, Project CC from director Cashmere Jasmine, and The Roof from director Alexander Bocchieri. Listed below are the complete cast for each short:

  • Beautiful, FL stars Dariana Alvarez, Lynette Coll, Eileen Galindo, Logan “Meatball Queen” Jennings, and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
  • Black Belts stars Seth Carr, Tremayne Norris, Honey Robinson, Godderick Alucard, Smokey Campbell, and Anthea Neri Best.
  • The Ghost features Hana Marie Kim, Andie Ju, Sook Hyung Yang, Eddie Shin, Ayvah Jordan Vasquez, and Tania Verafield.
  • Maxine is led by Margaret Cho, Elaine Young, Isabella Day, Kelvin Han Yee, Celeste Den, and Nicole Jia.
  • Project CC features Jessica Mikayla, A’lasia Simone, Jordyn Curet, Shelley Meche’tte, and Rhomeyn Johnson.
  • The Roof stars Phoenix Wilson, Wes Studi, DeLanna Studi, L. Frank Manriquez, Landa Lakes, and John M. Sneezy.
