FX has dropped the full What We Do in the Shadows Season 5 trailer for the upcoming return of its mockumentary comedy, teasing Guillermo’s not-so-smooth transition into becoming a vampire. Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on July 13 on FX and Hulu.

The video features Guillermo struggling with his vampire transformation after previously asking his friend Derek to finally turned him into one. It also teases Colin Robinson’s political campaign and the group’s chaotic trip to the mall.

Who’s the Cast of What We Do in the Shadows?

Based on Taika Waititi’s 2014 vampire mockumentary, What We Do in the Shadows centers around three ancient vampires. The bloodsuckers live together in Staten Island with their loyal familiar, Guillermo. The series stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, Mark Proksch, and Kristen Schaal.

“In Season 5, Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through,” reads the synopsis. “Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family – or at least, a family – from the Old Country, Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the relative newcomer to this tightly-knit group who’ve known each other for centuries.”

The series is written and executive-produced by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. It is executive produced by Clement, Waititi, Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush. It is produced by FX Productions.
