The Muppets Mayhem Trailer: The Band is Ready for Their First Album

Disney+ has dropped the full The Muppets Mayhem trailer for the upcoming Muppets-centered musical comedy, featuring the return of The Electric Mayhem. The series will be available for streaming on May 10.

The video shows the rock ‘n roll Muppets band as they prepare to record their first studio album several decades after their debut. It also teases its guest-star lineup, including musicians Tommy Lee, Lil Nas X, Zedd, Kesha, and Steve Aoki, along with actors Morgan Freeman, Sofia Carson, and Rachel Bloom.

Based on the characters created by Jim Henson, The Muppets Mayhem is developed, written, and executive produced by Adam F. Goldberg, Bill Barretta, and Jeff Yorkes. Lilly Singh is portraying the lead role of Nora, who has been “tasked with managing and wrangling the mayhem that is The Electric Mayhem Band.” Joining her are Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, and Anders Holm.

“After 45 years of rockin’ out, The Electric Mayhem goes on an epic musical journey to finally record their first studio album,” reads the synopsis. “With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora, the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current day music scene as they try to finally go platinum.”

The series will also feature guest-star appearances from Paula Abdul, Ryan Seacrest, Nicole Byer, Sofia Carson, Riki Lindhome, Cheech Martin, Ben Schwartz, Danny Trejo, Weird Al, and more. It is produced by ABC Signature and The Muppets Studio. Executive producers are Michael Bostick and Kris Eber along with The Muppets Studio’s David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter.

The Electric Mayhem debuted in the first episode of 1975’s The Muppet Show. The band is comprised of six Muppets: Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Animal on drums, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on Saxophone, and Lips on trumpet.
