HBO has dropped the official trailer for the White House Plumbers, the upcoming limited drama starring Justin Theroux and Woody Harrelson as a pair of burglars who got involved in one of the biggest political scandals in American history.
This marks both Theroux and Harrelson’s latest project with HBO after Theroux starred in The Leftovers and Harrelson appeared in True Detective. The five-part miniseries will make its debut in March 2023.
The White House Plumbers is created and executive produced by Veep alums Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, with David Mandel directing. Joining Theroux and Harrelson are Lena Headey, Judy Greer, Domhnall Gleeson, Toby Huss, Ike Barinholtz, Kathleen Turner, Kim Coates, Yul Vazquez, Alexis Valdés, Nelson Ascencio, Tony Plana, Zoe Levin, Liam James, Kiernan Shipka, Tre Ryder, David Krumholtz, F. Murray Abraham, Rich Sommer, and John Carroll Lynch.
“It tells the story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect,” reads the logline.
Executive producers are Harrelson, Theroux, Mandel, Ruben Fleischer, Gregg Fienberg, The District’s David Bernad, and Frank Rich, along with wiip’s Paul Lee, Nne Ebong, and Mark Roybal and Crash&Salvage’s Len Amato.
