BBC has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller titled The Girl Before, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo. The limited series will be making its UK debut this December 19 on BBC One. Meanwhile, there is currently no release date set for its U.S. release that will be available for streaming on HBO Max.
The Girl Before trailer, which you can check out below, features a woman who grabs the opportunity of living in a beautiful and mysterious house. However, she’ll soon find out that everything isn’t what they seem to be as she learns more about the woman who occupied the house before her.

The Girl Before is based on JP Delaney’s 2016 bestselling novel which has already sold more than one million copies. The adaptation is a four-part psychological thriller that will be led by Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror, Loki), and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo. Joining them are Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody), and Jessica Plummer (EastEnders).

The Girl Before is created, written and executive produced by JP Delaney, with Emmy nominated filmmaker Lisa Brühlmann directing and Marissa Lestrade co-writing episodes of the miniseries. Eleanor Moran, Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh for 42, Ben Irving for the BBC, and Lisa Brühlman are executive producing, with Mbatha-Raw and Rhonda Smith serving as producers.
