Paramount+ has dropped the first 1883 teaser trailer for Taylor Sheridan’s forthcoming prequel to the hit drama Yellowstone.
The 1883 teaser trailer provides us with our first glimpse of the main cast including Tim McGraw’s James Dutton and Faith Hill’s Margaret Dutton. It takes us back to the wild west to the roots of the Dutton family, teasing the obstacles they’ve faced before owning one of the largest ranches in the country. The series is scheduled to make its debut on Sunday, December 19.
1883 is created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, who is best known for his works on TV shows such as Veronica Mars, and Sons of Anarchy as well as in films like Sicario, and Hell or High Water.
“It follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America,” reads the synopsis. “It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land – Montana.”
The prequel will be led by Grammy winners Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family, respectively. It also stars Oscar nominee Sam Elliott as tough-as-nails cowboy Shea Brennan, who has the herculean task of guiding a group from Texas to Montana, and he does not suffer fools. Joining them are Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, and Billy Bob Thornton, who set for a guest-starring role of Marshal Jim Courtright.
1883 is a production by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David Glasser, Ron Burkle, and Bob Yari are serving as executive producers.
