The Wheel of Time Trailer: Rosamund Pike Goes On an Epic Adventure

Amazon Prime Video has dropped the full trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Robert Jordan’s bestselling fantasy novel series The Wheel of Time, starring Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike. The series is scheduled to make its debut on November 19, with the first three episodes, followed by new episodes available each Friday that will lead up to its season finale on December 24.

The Wheel of Time trailer, which you can check out below, highlights the epic adventure of Pike’s Moiraine as she tries to find the prophesied hero among a group of selected young individuals who are said to be destined to stand against the Dark One. Throughout their journey, they’ll have to face different obstacles including monsters who are tasked by the Dark One to set them off their path.

Based on one of the most popular and enduring fantasy novel series of all time by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time features an ensemble cast led by Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Álvaro Morte, Sophie Okonedo, Kae Alexander, Madeleine Madden, Zoë Robins, Michael McElhatton, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, Joshua Stradowski, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier, Emmanuel Imani, and more.

“Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers,” reads the synopsis. “There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.”

The Wheel of Time is developed and executive produced by Rafe Judkins, who also serves as the showrunner. It is also produced by Pike, with Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson as consulting producers. The fantasy series is a production by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

Executive producers are Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of iwot productions, Mike Weber, Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, and Uta Briesewitz, who have also directed the first two episodes.
