Disney+ has officially announced the full list of guest-stars who are set to lend their voices in the upcoming The Proud Family revival of the hit Disney Channel animated sitcom.
The star-studded lineup includes music superstars Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Chance the Rapper, Normani, and Jaden Smith along with actors Tiffany Haddish, Leslie Odom Jr. Lena Waithe, Anthony Anderson, Gabrielle Union, Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr., Courtney B. Vance, Jane Lynch, Marsai Martin, Glynn Turman, Lamorne Morris, Eva Longoria, Holly Robinson Peete, and long-time Disney star Brenda Song.
In celebration of The Proud Family‘s 20th debut anniversary, the streamer has also released a new featurette, featuring some of the guest-stars including Tiffany Haddish, Lena Waithe, Normani & more as they talked about what the iconic series meant to them, while also sharing some of their personal stories which were reflected in the original show. Ahead of the revival’s 2022 debut, all seasons of the original sitcom are now available for streaming on Disney+.

It will also feature the voices of Tina Knowles, Al Roker, and Bretman Rock, along with Olympic gold medal gymnasts Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Dominique Dawes; and many more. In addition, the streamer also confirmed the addition of two new recurring cast members in the form Asante Blackk as Penny’s boyfriend Kareem, and rapper Artist “A Boogie” Dubose as Maya’s gamer brother, Francis “KG” Leibowitz-Jenkins.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will pick up the story of its central character Penny Proud and also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!). Of course, it would not be “The Proud Family” without Penny’s loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.
The Disney+ series will feature the return of the original voice cast led by Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby. It will also include Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez.

The revival will also feature the voices of Keke Palmer, Zachary Quinto, Billy Porter and EJ Johnson. Palmer, Quinto and Porter will portray the role of the Leibowitz-Jenkins family, while Johnson will play Penny’s new best friend. It also features the return of Raquel Lee Bolleau and Marcus T. Paulk, who are reprising their respective roles of Nubia Gross, and Penny’s classmate Myron.
Produced by Disney Television Animation, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is executive-produced by Bruce W. Smith (The Princess and the Frog) and Ralph Farquhar (Moesha), who were original EPs on the Disney Channel sitcom. Calvin Brown, Jr. is co-executive producer and story editor, Jan Hirota is producer, and Eastwood Wong is art director.
The original series aired from 2001-2005 and was praised for its messages about inclusion and cultural diversity. The award-winning series ended with a TV movie in 2005, and all previous seasons are currently available to stream on Disney+.
