The Heart Guy: Exclusive Trailer for the Final Season of Acorn TV’s Hit Drama

ComingSoon.net is debuting the exclusive trailer for the final season of The Heart Guy, Acorn TV’s hit Australian comedy-drama series from Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Tony McNamara (The Great, The Favourite). The eight-episode fifth season will premiere on Monday, July 26 on the streamer with all episodes available at launch.

Rodger Corser (The Doctor Blake Mysteries) plays Hugh Knight, a rising star in the Sydney heart surgery ranks. Hugh is gifted, charming, and seemingly infallible, but after an incident involving drugs and alcohol, he’s forced to practice as a GP in his rural hometown — and to deal with his complicated family situation.

In Season 5, when the Knight family and the entire township of Whyhope are plunged into crisis, all eyes turn to Hugh to save them. Will Whyhope’s philandering medico be their Messiah – or is this a recipe for an even bigger disaster? And … will Hugh finally find true love with the woman of his dreams?

The Acorn TV Exclusive drama The Heart Guy also stars returning cast members Nicole da Silva (Charlie), Ryan Johnson (Matt), Tina Bursill (Meryl), Hayley McElhinney (Penny), Matt Castley (Ajax), Chloe Bayliss (Hayley), Belinda Bromilow (Betty), and Charles Wu (Ken).

Joining the cast are Zoë Ventoura (Love Child, Packed to the Rafters, Underbelly Files: Chopper), Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel, Dead Lucky, Tangle), Darren McMullen (SeaChange, House Husbands), John Waters (Halifax: Retribution, Mystery Road, The Commons), and Chantelle Jamieson (Crownies, House Husbands, Underbelly Files).
