The CW has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming second season of the hit teen superhero series Stargirl, which is scheduled to make its return on Tuesday, August 10. The Stargirl Season 2 trailer, which you can check out below, provides a preview of Ysa Penarejo’s mysterious character. According to EW, Penarejo will be portraying the role of Jade, who in the comics is known as the daughter of Green Lantern Alan Scott. This marks the DC character’s live-action debut.
The video also features Brec Bassinger’s Courtney as she tries to encourage the rest of JSA to continue with their superhero activities following their last battle against the Injustice Society. The other JSA members including Yolanda/Wildcat and Rick/Hourman think that they should disband because they’ve already defeated the threats. Unbeknownst to them, this is only the beginning as more villains are set to arrive in Blue Valley including Eclipso and The Shade.
