New Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Trailer Teases Time-Traveling Aliens

Ahead of its return this Sunday, The CW has released the extended trailer for the upcoming sixth season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, providing us with a better idea of what crazy episodes fans should expect in the new season. The video features the team going up against time-traveling aliens who are disrupting earth’s history. It also teases a wild west episode, a singing competition parody, as well as a Disney-inspired episode.

The new season will kick off with episode 6.01 titled “Ground Control to Sara Lance,” which was directed by Kevin Mock from a script written by James Eagan and Mark Bruner. The premiere episode’s official synopsis reads:

A MISSING CAPTAIN – After a night of celebrating their beating the Fates, the Legends quickly discover that Sara (Caity Lotz) is missing. Trying to keep it together, the Legends are shocked to discover that she was taken by Aliens. Ava (Jes Macallan) sends Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) to follow a lead on who can possibly help them find Sara, while Constantine (Matt Ryan) tries to work his magic. Meanwhile, Sara does all she can to try to escape, which includes releasing Aliens into the timeline, but is shocked to learn who one of her kidnappers turns out to be.

In the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, having spent last season trying to track down the Loom of Fate in order to bring back their slain comrades, the Legends must now save history from a foe like none they’ve encountered in the past or future. Co-captains of the time-ship Waverider Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) have dealt with monsters, time anomalies, and most recently, villains from Hell, but this season they will face something even more challenging and bizarre … space aliens! After one of their own is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. It will take more than the combined powers of a dark magician, John Constantine; a semi-reformed arsonist, Mick Rory; historian who transforms into steel, Nate Heywood; and a brother-sister wind-totem-wielding duo, Zara Tarazi and Behrad Tarazi (Shayan Sobhian) to save the world for the sixth time. They must recruit a new Legend, a woman who was abducted by aliens when she was a child and supposedly imbued with powers that will help the team defeat their intergalactic foes. Either that or she’s just crazy…

Phil Klemmer and Keto Shimizu will be returning as the sixth season’s showrunners. The new season will be introducing new characters, including Lisseth Chavez as a young Latinx woman named Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz, Aliyah O’Brien for a recurring role, Nic Bishop, and Raffi Barsoumian. It also will feature the return of Arrow alum David Ramsey, who will appear in an undisclosed role.
