Apple TV+ has launched the official trailer for Trying, the streamer’s first UK comedy series starring Rafe Spall (The Big Short, The War of the Worlds, Just Mercy), BAFTA nominee Esther Smith (Funny Valentines, Cuckoo, Black Mirror), and Oscar nominee Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake, the Harry Potter franchise, Pride). The series follows Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) as they try for adoption after discovering they are unable to have children naturally. The show charts their challenges, dysfunctional friends, screwball family, and chaotic lives and their interactions with the adoption panel.
The eight-episode series is written by Andy Wolton (The Coopers vs the Rest) and directed by Jim O’Hanlon (Catastrophe).
