Uzumaki teaser: Adult Swim announces new horror anime series
Adult Swim in partnership with Production IG USA have officially announced their brand new anime series titled Uzumaki, which will be a miniseries adaptation of legendary author Junji Ito’s supernatural horror manga series of the same name. The upcoming anime series will debut on 2020, exclusively on Toonami. Check out the series’ first teaser in the player below!
“As a huge fan of Junji Ito, I’m thrilled to be able to tackle one of his signature works, with a team of amazing creators who are all equally devoted to doing justice to this monumental work of horror manga,” Senior Vice-President of Adult Swim, Jason DeMarco said (via Dread Central)

The Uzumaki manga series is made up of three volumes that was first published in 1998. It follows the story of high school student Kirie Goshima, who lives in the curse town of Kurôzu-cho which is described as a small fogbound town located on the coast of Japan.
The four-episode anime series will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama (Flowers of Evil) with Hereditary‘s Colin Stetson set to composed the score. The series will also be produced by Drive Inc.

Junji Ito is best known for writing and illustrating horror manga series such as Tomie, Gyo, Museum of Terror and Fragments of Horror.
