Dave Chappelle has an all-new Netflix special, and judging by the trailer, it’s going to be the former Chappelle’s Show star poising himself to take on an overly sensitive culture with jokes. Also, Morgan Freeman narrates the trailer, which is very NSFW. Otherwise, you can check it out in the post below!
This marks the fifth standup special for Chappelle, who first started working with the streaming giant back in late 2016. So far, the actor/comedian has put out The Age of Spin: Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Palladium, Deep in the Heart of Texas: Dave Chappelle Live at Austin City Limits Live, followed by Equanimity and The Bird Revelation, the latter two he released on New Year’s Eve 2017.
The specials are part of a career comeback for Chappelle, who stepped away from the limelight in the mid-2000s, only to mount a career comeback starting in 2013. Three years later, he’d host Saturday Night Live, which earned him his first Emmy in 2017. The following year, Equanimity also earned him his second. He also had a co-starring role in Bradley Cooper’s Oscar-winning A Star Is Born last year.
Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones will premiere on Netflix August 26.
