HBO Max has been revealed as the name for WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, which will offer an impressive direct-to-consumer experience for all ages. The service also announced its exclusive streaming rights to series such as Friends, which will leave Netflix to join HBO Max at launch. You can check out the official promo now in the player below!
HBO Max also has the exclusive streaming rights at launch to all episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Pretty Little Liars, as well as a string of new Warner Bros.’ produced dramas for The CW beginning with the Fall 2019 season, including the new DC Entertainment series Batwoman and Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene.
The streamer also announced new exclusive movie production deals with Greg Berlanti alongside award-winning actress and producer Reese Witherspoon. Berlanti will produce an initial four movies focused on the young adult space, while Witherspoon will produce at least two films.

HBO Max, scheduled to launch commercially in spring of 2020, is anticipated to premiere with 10,000 hours of premium content.
Max Original series previously announced includes Dune: The Sisterhood, Tokyo Voice, The Flight Attendant, Love Life, Station Eleven, Made for Love, and the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. Highlights of HBO programming previously announced for 2020 and 2021 include Stephen King’s The Outsider, Lovecraft Country from Misha Green, Jordan Peele, and J.J. Abrams, The Nevers, The Gilded Age, Avenue 5, The Undoing, The Plot Against America, Perry Mason, and I Know This Much is True.
