The grown-ish premiere last season boasted Freeform’s highest debut for a comedy in nearly six years.
Freeform’s grown-ish, a half-hour comedy tackling current social issues and complexities facing both students and administrators, follows Zoey (Yara Shahidi), Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) popular, entitled, stylish and socially active 17-year-old daughter from ABC’s Emmy-nominated comedy black-ish, as she heads into her freshman year of college at Cal U.
Several actors will be reprising their roles from season one, including Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Trevor Jackson as Aaron Jackson, Francia Raisa as Ana Torres, Emily Arlook as Nomi Segal, Jordan Buhat as Vivek Shah and Deon Cole as Professor Charles Telphy. Season one guest stars Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey and Luka Sabbat have all been upped to series regulars, with Diggy Simmons also returning in a recurring role.
