There’s some very good news for Greendale Human Beings today as The Hollywood Reporter is confirming that NBC’s “Community” has been renewed for a fourth season, albeit an abbreviated one. The Sony Pictures Television series will air 13 episodes in the 2012-13 season.
Starring Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong and Chevy Chase, the Dan Harmon-created series airs three final third season episodes one week from tonight on May 17th.
The 13-episode count for the fourth season mirrors the network’s plans for the seventh season of “30 Rock,” though said season has been confirmed to be that series’ last. Despite rumors to the contrary, there is not currently a plan for “Community” to follow suite and, if all goes well, Greendale still has a chance for its fan-embraced “six seasons and a movie”.
