ABC Plans Once Upon a Time

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, writers of “LOST” and the upcoming TRON: Legacy, have sold a television series pitch called “Once Upon a Time” to ABC, Variety reports.

Described as “a modern-day take on fairy tales, with a female protagonist who comes from a unique background,” the series will be set in a small town in Maine and will feature an ensemble cast.

In late 2008, ABC was said to be developing the similarly-themed television adaptation of the Bill Willingham comic book series, Fables. Though this project doesn’t seem to have a direct connection, it is unclear whether ABC will be moving forward with Fables as well.
