“American Idol” will expand the weekly results shows to one hour beginning Wednesday, March 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on Fox. During the results shows, America’s votes will be announced and the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. The remaining safe finalists will perform live on the “Idol” stage the following Tuesday.
As previously announced, “Idol Gives Back” will air Wednesday, April 9 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Therefore, a special one-time-only Thursday results show will air Thursday, April 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on Fox. One contestant will be sent home and the remaining Top 5 contestants will continue on to perform the following week.
