Fox’s “The Next Great American Band” has selected its judges: John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Prince protege and drummer extraordinaire Sheila E. and Aussie “Idol” judge Ian Dickson will serve on the panel.
“New Zealand Idol” star Dominic Bowden will host.
Much like its superstar sister show “American Idol,” “Band” gives unsigned and undiscovered groups a chance to shine — or humiliate themselves — via a nationwide search. The battle-of-the-bands format will continue until a winner is chosen. The best band will receive a contract with 19 Recordings.
The series will premiere Oct. 19 on Fox and will air on Fridays at 8 p.m.
