Daredevil Fans Think Born Again Finale Will Set Up Major Character’s Return

Daredevil: Born Again‘s finale is fast approaching, and fans believe that they just might see the return of Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson in Season 1’s ultimate episode. The Disney+ series picked up right where the Charlie Cox-led Netflix show ended, with Matt Murdock celebrating alongside Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page. However, Murdock’s law partner and best friend, Foggy, ends up losing his life at the hands of Bullseye in the opening minutes of the first episode. As such, the character has remained absent from the proceedings of Born Again so far. Nevertheless, this hasn’t deterred fans from suspecting that Foggy is alive and could make a stunning return in Episode 9.

Why fans think Daredevil: Born Again’s finale will set up Foggy’s return

While Marvel Studios has yet to share an official word on Foggy’s fate, viewers seem convinced that he is alive and will make an appearance in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again finale. This is majorly due to Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum confirming that Elden Henson will reprise his role in Season 2.

Additionally, Foggy’s demise in the show has many similarities to a 2006 Daredevil comic book titled The Secret Life of Foggy Nelson. In the comic, Foggy seemingly dies in a similar fashion, only to end up surviving, following which the FBI recruits him into their witness protection program. In March 2025, Marvel shared a carousel on Instagram, comparing sequences in the series with their comic book counterparts. One such image draws parallels to Foggy’s death, as seen in Daredevil issue #82.

Under the post, fans shared their thoughts on Foggy’s death, suggesting his revival in the Daredevil: Born Again finale. One user wrote, “Interesting to reference the comic whereby foggy SURVIVES.” Meanwhile, another noted their belief in seeing Foggy alive by stating, “Them literally pointing out the comic story where Foggy fakes his death.” A third fan pointed out their thoughts on why Foggy’s return seems imminent by writing, “Using that panel of foggy getting stabbed when a couple issues after this it turns out he was in witness protection the whole time is certainly a choice.”

While Marvel has its own way of adapting comic books for the camera, the aforementioned similarities and Elden Henson’s assured return in Season 2 have many convinced of Foggy’s survival. However, without any official confirmation, fans will have to seek validation in the Daredevil: Born Again finale, which airs on Tuesday, April 15.
