Invincible fans are voicing their preferences about who should voice the character Thragg in Season 4. This comes after the series creator confirmed during a new interview that they had already cast an actor in the role. Notably, in the Invincible universe, Thragg is believed to be the strongest Viltrumite, the same race as superpowered aliens to which Nowl-Ahn / Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man belongs.
Robert Kirkman confirms Thragg’s casting, Invincible fans make their choices
Invincible creator Robert Kirkman disclosed during a recent interview with Variety that they had already found an “amazing” actor to voice Thragg. Talking about the character’s appearance in Season 4, Kirkman said, “I mean, it would certainly be weird if he didn’t show up in the show.” He further divulged, “Yeah. I mean, I don’t know. It’s so tough. Here’s what I’ll say: He’s been cast and he’s amazing.”
Notably, Kirkman also co-created the Image Comics comic book series that the Prime Video animated series is based on, along with Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley.
This revelation prompted fans to speculate who that actor could be, with many suggesting the names of Jon Bernthal, who portrays Frank Castle / The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Ron Perlman, who played the titular superhero in Hellboy in both Hellboy (2004) and its sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008).
@DynamoSuperX posted on X (previously Twitter), “Y’all, hear me out. RON PERLMAN AS THRAGG.”
Popular content creator @blurayangel also prefers Perlman to be cast as the voice of Thragg. “Let me cook with Thragg’s voice,” @blurayangel shared, adding, “RON PERLMAN.”
Meanwhile, @Nick34104550 thinks Bernthal would be perfect for Thragg. They posted, “When Jon Benthal voices Thragg in Invincible” in the caption of a still of Frank from Daredevil: Born Again.
Another X user, @Austin_Medzz simply shared a gif of The Punisher in the comment section of a post reporting on what Kirkman said.
Invincible premiered on March 25, 2021. In July 2024, months before the release of the third season, Amazon greenlit Season 4 of the series.
