Taylor Polidore says Beauty in Black Season 2’s release date is a ‘Netflix decision’
Taylor Polidore stated during a recent interview that determining the release date of Beauty in Black was “above” her and ultimately a “Netflix decision.” The inaugural season of Beauty in Black was split into two parts comprising eight episodes each. The first part debuted on Netflix on October 24, 2024, followed by Part 2 on March 6, 2025.
When asked by the interviewer when Season 2 might be coming out, Polidore said, “You know what is so funny we just dropped that ‘Hey, we have a Season 2.’ And I’m seeing so many comments like ‘We need it now,’ ‘Can you release it now?'”
The actress continued, “I don’t know when it’s coming out. That is definitely above me. That’s a Netflix decision. But I know it’s gonna be out at the perfect time.”
Beauty in Black tells the story of Kimmie, an exotic dancer. Desperate to pay off her massive debt, Kimmie encounters the affluent and influential Bellarie family, who funds a lucrative scholarship at a prestigious hair school.
Besides Polidore, the cast of Beauty in Black comprises Crystle Stewart as Mallory, Ricco Ross as Horace, Julian Horton as Roy, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Richard Lawson as Norman, Charles Malik Whitfield as Jules, Debbi Morgan as Olivia, and more.
Beauty in Black received significant negative responses from professional critics, but it was popular among Netflix subscribers. In the October 28 week, Season 1 topped Netflix’s TV list with an impressive 8.7 million views.
It remains unclear exactly when Season 2 will come out. But, we do know that it will do so in two parts, like the first season.
