Wednesday Season 2 Gets an Exciting Update From Jenna Ortega

Golden Globe nominee Jenna Ortega has finally shared some exciting new details about Wednesday Season 2, which wrapped up production over three months ago. The hit Netflix series currently has no official return date yet, but the next installment is expected to debut sometime this year.

Besides Ortega, Wednesday Season 2 will also feature returning cast members Emma Myers as Enid, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, and more.

What was Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2 update?

During a recent interview, Ortega revealed an update about the current progress of Wednesday Season 2’s post-production process.

“We’re still in the edit. I was doing ADR for it two weeks ago,” She said. “That’s the funny thing about these jobs is you’re done, you wrap, but you’re not really done. So, I’ll probably be working on it until the end.”

The acclaimed star also teased what fans can expect from the new episodes, confirming that they’ve filmed a whole episode inspired by iconic slasher movies.

“Visually, I can say we have some of the most fun we’ve ever had. It’s crazy to talk about one frame like this, but there is a frame of Pugsley rolling his eyes back with this contraption around his head — that’s all I can say — and it reminds me so much of Full Metal Jacket. It’s insane. So bizarre. I just feel like there are a lot of scenes and frames, and there’s a whole episode based off of slashers, and we make a lot of horror references. So, everything about it, I feel like we kind of had a little bit more trust, and therefore, we felt like we could do bigger, more elaborate sequences, which is nice.”

Season 2 will also introduced new cast members Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah B. Taylor, Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo, with Christopher Lloyd and Lady Gaga. The Back to the Future vet originally portrayed Fester Addams in the original live-action movies, where he co-starred alongside Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia.

The coming-of-age supernatural comedy is executive produced and directed by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride). For Season 2, Ortega will also be returning as a producer. In a previous interview, she revealed that the next installment will focus more on the horror aspect, confirming that her character won’t have any love interest in Season 2.
