The White Lotus Season 3 continues the tradition of bringing the series to an exotic location, and as a result, star Walton Goggins got a taste of the wildlife while on set.
What did Walton Goggins say about the snake attack on The White Lotus Season 3 set?
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Goggins opened up about an experience he had while filming the show. In the series’ latest episode, Goggins’ character Rick gets high and begins freeing snakes from a snake farm, leading to her girlfriend being bit and rushed to a hospital.
According to Goggins, the opposite actually occurred while filming for the scene.
“As I was pulling the snake out, he didn’t want to come, right? And so the snake turns around and he bit me. I haven’t told that story to anybody,” Goggins said, noting that while he wishes he “could have been cool,” he instead began yelling “Oh my God, I’ve been bit by a snake!”
Thankfully, Goggins was okay to film for the rest of the day. However, he said the next day, a producer called and suggested that it might actually be best for him to take a trip to the hospital, just in case.
“‘Hey, you know what, we’ve been thinking about it and I don’t know, we’re thinking maybe you should go to the hospital.’ I said, ‘for what? You said the snake was non-venomous, right? Am I dying like a slow death?’” Goggins recalled.
The White Lotus Season 3 is led by newcomers to the series Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, and more. Natasha Rothwell also reprises her role as Belinda, who was featured in The White Lotus Season 1, in the new chapter.
“The social satire is set at an exclusive Thai resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week,” the official logline reads.
Along with the aforementioned cast, The White Lotus Season 3 also stars Leslie Bibb, Sarah Catherine Hook, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Dom Hetrakul, Yuri Kolokolnikov, Julian Kostov, Charlotte Le Bon, Morgana O’Reilly, and Shalini Peiris.
White writes and directs The White Lotus Season 3. He also serves as an executive producer alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
The first season of The White Lotus, which premiered in July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, received 20 Emmy nominations across 13 categories and 10 wins. The White Lotus Season 2 arrived in December 2022 and was set in Sicily. That season received 23 Emmy nominations and five wins. The first two seasons of The White Lotus both starred Jennifer Coolidge alongside various ensemble casts.
