Chris Pratt recently confirmed that The Terminal List Season 2 has a release date set for 2026, sparking questions about his availability for Avengers: Doomsday. In a recent interview, he stated that his filming schedule will keep him busy for most of 2025, which could limit his role in the MCU sequel. Meanwhile, fans continue to speculate about Star-Lord’s return, Avengers: Secret Wars and Marvel’s evolving plans for the character.
The Terminal List Season 2’s release date won’t arrive before 2026
Chris Pratt has confirmed that filming for The Terminal List Season 2 will begin in March 2025 and last for approximately “six or seven months.”
While speaking to Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Pratt stated, “I’m going to be doing the second season of Terminal List. I’m gonna be shooting that pretty much all year. We’ll start in March, and I’ll be working on that, going back and forth, family time and work time, for about six or seven months.”
Amazon Prime Video originally renewed The Terminal List for a second season over two years ago, highlighting the extended production timeline for the series. Given the extensive filming schedule and necessary post-production work, the show is unlikely to release before mid-to-late 2026.
The Terminal List Season 2 could hinder Chris Pratt’s Avengers: Doomsday return
With The Terminal List filming occupying most of 2025, Chris Pratt’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday remains uncertain. The MCU film is set to begin production in April 2025, and according to Deadline‘s social media manager Natalie Sitek, it will be filmed “fairly back to back” with Avengers: Secret Wars. Pratt’s filming commitments for The Terminal List may limit his availability for Marvel’s ensemble film.
According to Cosmic Marvel, insider DanielRPK reported, “The main cast will film for about a month, while the supporting cast will film for one to two weeks.” The entire production is expected to last around five months.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 post-credits scene teased Star-Lord’s return with the message: “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed his next major MCU appearance, but James Gunn previously stated they had plans for a Legendary Star-Lord solo film.
If Pratt’s schedule limits his role in Avengers: Doomsday, he may still appear in Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Alternatively, Star-Lord could wear his helmet for most of the film, reducing the need for Pratt to be on set while still keeping the character involved.
Amazon Prime Video plans to release The Terminal List Season 2 in 2026. Marvel Studios will premiere Avengers: Doomsday on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
