Filming has commenced for Neagley, the spin-off of the Prime Video series Reacher. Maria Sten returns as the titular character, who is one of the most consistent aspects of the original show besides Alan Ritchson’s protagonist. The start of production in early 2025 hints at a potential release date, considering the premiere patterns of all three seasons of Reacher.

Sten took to Instagram in late February 2025 to confirm that filming for Neagley had begun. She shared a photo of herself with a clapperboard and the screenshot of a Variety article reporting that five new actors had joined the cast. In the caption, Sten wrote, “it’s officially official people! Neagley is happening,” adding, “Our creative team has cooked up an incredible show with such a stellar cast and I can’t wait to share more details as we continue production… all I can say for now is welcome to Neagley’s world. it’s time for coco pops!!”
Notably, Reacher is an adaptation of the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child. Frances Neagley is an important character even in these novels. Prime Video officially green-lit the show in October 2024. Reflecting on her character, Sten told Collider in February 2025 how “thrilled” she was to get going. Reacher showrunner Nick Santora created Neagley with Nicholas Wootton. In February 2025, it was reported that the series had added five actors to its cast. They were Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman.
Reacher Season 1 premiered in February 2022, a little over six months after production wrapped in July 2021. Although filming for Season 2 concluded in February 2023, its release date was reportedly impacted by the Hollywood strikes. The sophomore season eventually premiered in December 2023.
Filming for Neaglery is reportedly taking place in Toronto, Ontario, and will last until June 2025. It is unclear whether the producers intend to shoot in other locations, extending the production date. But even if that isn’t the case, the show will likely spend an additional few months in post-production. This makes early 2026 a potential release date window for Neagley Season 1.
