Hulu has announced a new major update for Only Murders in the Building Season 5, after the acclaimed sitcom recently won its first SAG-AFTRA award for Outstanding Performance by an Emsemble in a Comedy Series.
Production on the next installment of the murder mystery comedy has officially begun, after more than four months since the show had wrapped up its 10-episode fourth season. Just like previous seasons, Season 4 also garnered positive reviews from critics. It currently has a Certified Fresh rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Who is involved in Only Murders in the Building Season 5?
Only Murders in the Building Season 5 will once again be led by Selena Gomez as Mabel, Martin Short as Oliver, and Steve Martin as Charles. For their performances in Season 4, they each received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress nd Best Actor, respectively. The cast also includes Michael Cyril Creighton, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jackie Hoffman, James Caverly, Ryan Broussard, and more. At the moment, it’s unclear if the new characters featured from Season 4 would also make a return or not.

The series hails from co-writers and co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie). Season 4 ended with Oliver and Meryl Streep’s Loretta finally getting married. It also featured the appearance of Madam Secretary’s Téa Leoni as Sofia Caccimelio, who’s expect to have a bigger role in Season 5. The Season 4 finale also saw the sudden death of Arconia doorman Lester, teasing the next installment’s newest murder mystery. It is executive produced by Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
