Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany has been tapped for the leading role in Apple TV+‘s upcoming dark comedy thriller series titled, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. This marks Maslany’s latest major TV project in a long while, after three years since playing the titular role in Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series.
Maslany is currently starring alongside Theo James and Elijah Wood in Oz Perkins’ latest horror movie The Monkey, based on the 1980 short story by Stephen King. Since its debut, the adaptation has garnered positive reviews from critics, and is currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a Tomatometer rating of 78%. Besides the upcoming Apple TV+ show, Maslany is also attached to star in Alex Kurtzman’s newest Star Trek series Starfleet Academy, with Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti.
What is Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed about?
“The half-hour-long series centers around a newly divorced mom (Maslany), who falls down a dangerous rabbit hole of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer,” reads the official logline.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is created and executive produced by David J. Rosen (Hunters), who is set to serve as the showrunner. Rosen is also currently working with Apple TV+ for the second second of its Colin Farrell-led mystery drama Sugar. Halloween’s David Gordon Green has also boarded the project as a director and executive producer. The comedic thriller will be executive produced by Simon Kinberg and and Audrey Chon for Genre Films, as part of their first-look deal with Apple TV+. It is a production by Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios.
