Peacock has unveiled the trailer for Long Bright River, an upcoming limited series starring Emmy Award winner Amanda Seyfried as a patrol cop on the hunt to catch the perpetrator behind a string of murders. 

Long Bright River, described as a “suspense thriller series,” is Based on Liz Moore’s New York Times bestseller novel of the same name. It also stars Nicholas Pinnock (Django), Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love), Callum Vinson (Coup!), and John Doman (Borgia). 

Recurring guest stars include Dash Mihok, Britne Oldford, Matthew Del Negro, Harriet Sansom Harris, Patch Darragh, and Perry Mattfeld.

What happens in the Long Bright River trailer?

The trailer for Long Bright River previews the mysterious murders of three females, with Seyfried’s Mickey determined to investigate who’s behind the killings despite the authorities questioning her post as a patrol cop. 

Per the upcoming limited series’ official synopsis, Long Bright River will tell the story of Mickey (Seyfried), “a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis. When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case.”

The Offer’s Nikki Toscano serves as the showrunner and director. She also wrote and executive produced the series alongside the book’s author Moore, with Seyfried also executive producing. Additional executive producers include Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Amanda Lewis, Amy Pascal, and Russell Rothberg.

Long Bright River hits Peacock on March 13.
