After The Rookie Season 7 Episode 7 aired, Jenna Dewan recently addressed the speculations of a break-up between her character Bailey Nune and John Nolan, played by Nathan Fillion. ABC’s The Rookie is one of the most popular crime dramas, which returned with its 7th season on January 7, 2025. The show, which first debuted in October 2018, features a big cast including Mekia Cox, Eric Winter, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, and more.
Jenna Dewan teases Nolan and Bailey’s future in The Rookie Season 7
Jenna Dewan recently spoke to and discussed whether the events of The Rookie Season 7 Episode 7, “The Mickey,” will affect Bailey and Nolan’s relationship.
In Episode 7, Dewan’s character Bailey’s secret is exposed to her on-screen husband, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion). He learns about his wife Bailey being in contact with the hitman who killed Jason Wyler, played by Steve Kazee, in Episode 5, “Til Death.” This leads to a tense confrontation between the two in the seventh episode.
When asked about how Jason Wyler’s death and the revelation of the secret impacted Bailey and Nolan’s relationship in The Rookie Season 7, Dewan told Screen Rant, “The season starts off with such high-stakes drama and intensity for Bailey, and I think from here on out, it becomes about sort of stabilizing after that and finding her way with Nolan.”
Jenna Dewan further compared the situation that Bailey and Nolan had gone through just at the start of the season to walking on fire. The actress added, “I do think that when you’re going through something so intense like that together, and you actually make it out the other side of it, there’s a bit of a shorthand–[they can] look at each other and go, “We went through that. That was intense, and we made it, and we love each other more for it”.”
The Rookie Season 7 has a total of 18 episodes, with each one airing on Tuesdays every week.
