Reacher Season 3 Actor Reveals a Major Book Character Cut From the Show

Anthony Michael Hall is part of the cast of the upcoming Season 3 of Prime Video’s action crime series Reacher. The show is an adaptation of the book series by Lee Child, with the third season being based on the 2003 novel Persuader. In a new interview, Hall revealed a key difference that the upcoming chapter of Reacher would have from its source material.

Hall is set to portray Zachary Beck in Reacher Season 3. The actor revealed in a recent interview with The Direct that Zachary’s wife, Elizabeth Beck, who appears in Child’s original book, had been cut from the third season.

“And I have to say, it (Season 3) was very true [to the source material], with the exception, I think, of the omission of the character of the wife,” Hall said. “And obviously, you know, in an eight-episode season, you’re not going to have everything in there, but I think there are large portions of the novel that are excerpts that contain Season 3 here,” he added.

For the people outside his immediate sphere, Zachary is the owner of a rug-importing and exporting business. However, he is secretly involved in criminal activities. While describing his character, Hall stated that Zachary was “living like The Great Gatsby,” adding, “We know something’s awry here because something’s not lining up as it were. So what’s really cool about the goal is that this is something I spoke to [showrunner] Nick [Santora] about. There’s a lot of room for me to play…”

During the same interview, Hall admitted that he was not aware of Child’s work before boarding the project, but he read it while making the season and kept the book with him every day.

Reacher Season 3 premieres on Prime Video on February 20, 2025, and will comprise eight episodes. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher. Further, the cast includes Brian Tee as Quinn, Olivier Richters as Paulie, Johnny Berchtold as Richard Beck, and more.
