While Alan Ritchson is currently busy promoting the upcoming Reacher Season 3, he recently took out time to confirm that Season 4 of Blue Mountain State is happening after all. The teenage sitcom first made its way onto the small screens in 2010 and spawned a total of three seasons before calling it a day in November 2011. It has since gone on to garner a cult following, leading Amazon Prime Video to sanction a surprise fourth installment in February 2024. While there have not been many updates about the edition since then, series star Ritchson has now announced that work on the upcoming season is progressing well.
Alan Ritchson confirms Blue Mountain State Season 4’s release on Prime Video
In a recent discussion, the 42-year-old actor, who portrayed Thad Castle in Blue Mountain State, stated that while Season 4 is on the way, he is presently trying to make room for the installment in his busy schedule.
During his appearance at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 event, Alan Ritchson not only promoted Reacher Season 3 but also provided updates on Blue Mountain State Season 4. “We’re gonna make a fourth season happen. Trying to work it into my schedule,” he said. The Fast X star then added, “I think it’s going to be the best season of BMS we’ve ever had. It is so damn funny, and it’s the perfect, you know, the way that we resurrect the characters and then sort of bring them into the way that things are now.”
Ritchson further expressed his excitement about returning to the Chris Romano co-created series by noting, “There’s so many things that we can play with now that will surprise a character like Thad. I think it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
Following its supposed culmination in 2011, BMS paved the way for a feature film in 2016, titled Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland. As such, Blue Mountain State Season 4 will be the first addition to the franchise since the release of the Lev L. Spiro-helmed movie. Nevertheless, the upcoming edition has yet to receive an official release date from its creators.
