Production is now officially underway on Euphoria Season 3.
Created by Sam Levinson, Euphoria premiered on HBO in 2019. Following two hour-long specials, the second season arrived in January 2022. The show was renewed for a third season not long after that; however, production was delayed for a long period of time for a number of reasons.
Euphoria Season 3 is now moving forward as the official HBO X account has now shared a first-look photo of Zendaya’s Rue in Euphoria Season 3 while announcing that filming has officially begun. Check out the photo below:
What else do we know about Euphoria Season 3?
Euphoria Season 3 will consist of eight episodes. While there was at one point talk of Euphoria Season 3 having a five-year time jump, official plot details for the show’s next chapter remain under wraps at this time.
“We are shooting Euphoria,” HBO’s Casey Bloys said, via Variety, in January 2025. “I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors are in the show.”
Along with Zendaya as Ruby “Rue” Bennett, the cast of Euphoria includes Alexa Demie as Madeleine “Maddy” Perez, Jacob Elordi as Nathaniel “Nate” Jacobs, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Sydney Sweeney as Cassandra “Cassie” Howard, Maude Apatow as Alexis “Lexi” Howard, Dominic Fike as Elliot, and Colman Domingo as Ali Muhammed.
Barbie Ferreira’s Katherine “Kat” Hernandez, who had a major role in Euphoria Season 1 and was then only in a small number of Euphoria Season 2 scenes, is not returning for the third season. Storm Reid, who plays Rue’s sister Gia, is also not returning due to scheduling conflicts.
A premiere date for Euphoria’s third season has not yet been announced by HBO.
