Agatha All Along Season 2 in Serious Doubt After Patti LuPone’s Comment

Patti LuPone recently spoke about her time working on the Marvel series Agatha All Along and also brought up her thoughts on the possibility of the series being renewed for Season 2.

Agatha All Along debuted on Disney+ on September 18, 2024. The show focuses on a coven of witches joining Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness on her mission to journey through the Witches’ Road.

Patti LuPone’s comment hints Agatha All Along Season 2 is unlikely

Actress Patti LuPone appeared in Andy Cohen’s show on the Sirius XM podcast recently and gave an update on the likelihood of Agatha All Along returning for a second season.

LuPone played the role of Lilia Calderu in the 2024 mini-series and expressed that she wanted Agatha All Along to return for Season 2, but stated that it won’t be happening. LuPone told Cohen, “There won’t be one. Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season.’”

The actress further revealed the reason given to her by Jac Schaeffer for why Agatha All Along won’t be back for Season 2. She added, “[Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”

Patti LuPone further stated that this was the same reason Schaeffer also pulled out of making Season 2 of WandaVision, which Agatha All Along was in part a sequel to. She recalled, “She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision and I didn’t.'”

LuPone’s time as Lilia Calderu on the series ended in Episode 7, which aired on October 23, 2024. In the episode, she makes a heroic sacrifice to save the rest of the coven from the Salem Seven.
