Daredevil: Born Again is set to debut on Disney+ in March. However, in August last year, Marvel announced the series would receive a second season. In a recent interview, Charlie Cox, who portrays the eponymous superhero in the upcoming series, disclosed when Season 2 would start filming.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to begin filming sooner than you think
Charlie Cox appeared at the FAN EXPO San Francisco with Wilson Bethel, who plays Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter in the show, and revealed that filming for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 would start before the release of the inaugural season.
“It’s been so many years since we released any Daredevil content. I’m really excited about it,” Cox stated. “By the time we release [Born Again] on March 4th, we’ll already be shooting Season 2. So, it’s just a gift that keeps on giving, really.”
Daredevil: Born Again serves as a revival of Daredevil, which originally streamed on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. Although that show was slated to have more seasons, it was ultimately canceled. Recalling his sentiments after he learned about the cancellation, Cox said, “I suddenly had a breaking up period, a mourning period. We thought we were going to do a season 4, and then that didn’t happen.” Cox revealed that he got the news through a phone call, adding, “It was like, ‘We’re done. It’s finished.’ It felt like a breakup a little bit in kind of a weird way.”
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 could arrive in 2026
Cox didn’t offer any details on what the release date for Daredevil Season 2 could be during his appearance at the FAN EXPO. However, given that the show goes back into production before or in early March 2025, the second season can potentially come out as early as 2026.
At the same event, Cox mentioned that he had no desire to stop playing Daredevil anytime soon, though he acknowledged that it would “presumably” happen at some point down the line.
