Dexter: Resurrection Cast Adds The Bear’s David Zayas & More

Showtime has enlisted three new cast members who will be joining the Dexter: Resurrection cast for the upcoming crime drama thriller series. David Zayas (The Bear), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) and James Remar (Oppenheimer, It: Welcome to Derry) have been tapped to play series regular roles, with Zayas and Remark reprising their respective characters Detective Angel Batista and Harry Morgan from the original show. As for Alcott, he will portray Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan.

Who is leading the Dexter: Resurrection cast?

Dexter: Resurrection is once again led by Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall as he reprises his iconic role as Dexter Morgan. Hall is also serving as an executive producer, along with Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll). Apart from Resurrection, Hall will also narrate the inner voice of his character’s younger version in the prequel Dexter: Original Sin, portrayed by Patrick Gibson.

The crime drama is executive produced by showrunner Clyde Phillips, with Marcos Siega to direct and produce. Further details about its plot and character have yet to be revealed. Production is expected to begin sometime this month. It is a production by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.

The original series ran on-air for eight seasons from 2006-2013. Besides Hall, the show also starred Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow. During its original run, it earned multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations as well as a Peabody Award, with Hall taking home a Golden Globe in 2010 for his leading performance.
