Goosebumps Season 2 Producer on if Season 1’s Cast Will Return

With Goosebumps: The Vanishing nearing its release date, executive producer Rob Letterman has spoken about the potential for the future of the series. Goosebumps returned to the small screen in 2023, with the first chapter of the new version of the show ending on a massive cliffhanger. Accordingly, many fans expected Goosebumps Season 2 to provide a fitting conclusion to the storylines of characters introduced earlier.

However, the show’s renewal also came with a surprising update as it was confirmed that Goosebumps: The Vanishing would serve as a soft reboot of the franchise. Many fans were left concerned that the cast of the first season would never return and Letterman has now addressed this.

Rob Letterman says ‘never say never’ on Goosebumps Season 1 cast’s return

While talking with The Direct, Goosebumps producer Rob Letterman was asked about how the Goosebumps team intends to handle the characters from the first season, given that the sequel is set to have a brand new cast. Not entirely ruling out a return, Letterman responded “Look, if I say we will never go back, then that’ll probably trigger the opposite thing. I really don’t know about anything. Yeah, you never say never for stuff like that. You know, anything’s possible. And one of the great things about ‘Goosebumps’ is, you know, R.L Stein did circle back a few times to a couple things, Slappy for instance.”

The cast of Goosebumps Season 1 featured Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, and Ana Yi Puig, among others in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Goosebumps: The Vanishing will mainly focus on a new set of characters, played by David Schwimmer, Ana Ortiz, Sam McCarthy, Jayden Bartels, and more.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing is currently on track to premiere simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10, 2025.
