Netflix Reveals Squid Game Season 3 Teaser With New Killer Doll’s Name

Following the cliffhanger ending of Season 2, Netflix has shared Squid Game Season 3‘s first teaser. The footage comes after Netflix revealed the first poster for the next season, which featured the killer doll showcased in Season 2’s mid-credits scene. Furthermore, it has been officially revealed what the doll is called.

Squid Game Season 3 teaser highlights the new doll, Chul-su

In the mid-credits scene of Squid Game Season 2, viewers saw three players approaching the giant ‘Red Light, Green Light’ doll, Young-hee. But, in front of Young-hee’s statue was another doll, whose name has been revealed to be Chul-su.

In a new X (formerly Twitter) post, Netflix wrote, “Everyone say hi to Chul-su,” and revealed the aforementioned mid-credits scene as a 15-second long teaser for what’s coming in Squid Game Season 3. Watch the footage here:

Many fans have predicted the game involving the Young-hee and Chul-su dolls to be a version of Jack and Jill. But, whether the game is really called Jack and Jill remains to be seen.

In an interview with Variety, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk talked about when Season 3’s release date would be announced and also teased its plot. Here’s what he said:

“At this point, anything I might say is going to be a spoiler, so I want to be cautious. But what I can say is, after Season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for Season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”

Continuing about the storyline, he teased how Season 3 will change Seong Gi-hun while saying:

“But as for the storyline of the third season, Gi-hun having lost everything, including his best friend, and all of his attempts going to failure, it’s now, what is he going to be like? What state is Gi-hun going to be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue on with the mission? Is he going to give up or persist? And so you’re going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2.”

Squid Game Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
