Oscar nominee Felicity Jones has signed on for the leading role in Amazon MGM Studios’ Formula 1 drama titled One, which is still currently in development. Should the project received an official series order, this would mark Jones’ first major TV project in a long while, after playing a recurring role in 2009’s The Diary of Anne Frank series.
“The series will focus on a failing family-owned racing team, led by Jones’ character, as it contends with fierce personalities, ever-changing rivals and multi-million-dollar stakes,” reads the synopsis.

One will be written and executive produced by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. In addition to leading the cast, Jones will also serve as a producer alongside her brother Alexander Jones for Piecrust Pictures banner. It will be executive produced by Band of Brothers’ Tony To and True Detectives’ Dan Sackheim, alongside Philippe Maigret of ITV Studios.
Jones is best known for her acclaimed roles in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Theory of Everything, The Aeronauts, and On the Basis of Sex. She had just recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in A24’s historical drama movie The Brutalist. She will next be seen in the upcoming drama Train Dreams with Joel Edgerton, and in the Christmas comedy Oh. What. Fun. with Michelle Pfeiffer. In addition, Jones is also attached to star in the period fantasy movie 100 Nights of Hero, based on the graphica novel by Isabel Grreenberg.
