Netflix has announced that Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson will officiially be reprising his role as Trevor Bingley from 2022’s Man vs. Bee show in its next installment titled, Man vs Baby. Production on the newest season has already started, with the streamer sharing some hilarious edits of Atkinson to celebrate the show’s filming start.
What is the Man vs. Baby show about?
Just like in the first installment, Man vs. Baby will see Atkinson’s Trevor Bingley with “another unlikely companion” as he once again finds himself looking after a luxurious penthouse in London. This marks Atkinson’s first TV project since starring in Man vs. Bee. Prior to this, he starred in last year’s musical prequel Wonka, which starred Timothee Chalamet.
It is a four-part series created by Atkinson and Will Davies. The latter is also serving as an executive producer alongside Chris Clark. The creative team also includes David Kerr as its director, with HouseSitter Productions signing on once again to produce the new installment. At the moment, Atkinson is the only confirmed cast member for Man vs Baby. The first season previously starred Jing Lusi, Claudie Blakley, Tom Basden, Julian Rhind-Tutt and Greg McHugh.
Atkinson is best known for his iconic role as Mr. Bean, a character he portrayed in the popular British sitcom of the same name, which only ran for 15 episodes. The iconic comedy show was revived as an animated series in 2002, where Atkinson returned to voice and executive produce the five-season animated sitcom. He is also best known for his roles in movies such as The Witches, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Johnny English franchise, Love Actually, and more.
