Parker Posey is venturing into series TV as the star of “The Return of Jezebel James,” Amy Sherman-Palladino’s comedy pilot for Fox, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Also, Matthew Lillard has been tapped to lead the ensemble in NBC’s comedy pilot “Area 52” and Anthony Anderson is set as one of the two leads in Fox’s drama pilot “K-Ville.”
“Jezebel,” from Regency TV and writer-director Sherman-Palladino, centers on a successful children’s book editor (Parker) who is newly single and, after learning she won’t be able to conceive, asks her estranged younger sister to carry her baby for her.
“Area 52,” from NBC Universal TV Studio, revolves around a group of government employees in the Arizona desert who watch over an alien from outer space. Lillard will play Col. Steven Isaac, a rising Air Force officer who is ambitious and a little vulnerable.
“K-Ville,” from 20th Century Fox TV, revolves around cops in post-Katrina New Orleans. Anderson will play an experienced officer, an idealist who deeply believes that if they all pull together, they can bring the city back.
