Netflix has shared the official trailer for Astérix and Obélix: The Big Fight, its newest period fantasy animated series, which takes place in Ancient Rome. The show is currently scheduled to make its debut in the spring of 2025.
“Rome is desperate to conquer the last independent village in Gaul and the home of Asterix and Obelix,” reads the animated show’s official synopsis. “The secret to the Gauls’ battle superiority is a magic potion, but when the potion master loses his memory, the villagers are left to their own devices against the might of Rome.”

The Astérix and Obélix: The Big Fight teaser trailer introduces the residents of Gaul, the last independent village from the Roman Empire. The video highlights their determination and valiant efforts in stopping Rome from taking over their village.
Astérix and Obélix: The Big Fight was created by Alain Chabat, who also directed the show with Fabrice Joubert. It is a modern adaptation produced by Alain Goldman. It hails from Les Editions Albert René, with TAT Productions set as its animation studio.
The show is based on the original French comic book series by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Prior to the Netflix adaptation, the comic book was first adapted into an animated movie by director Philippe Grimond in 1989. The U.S. version of the said film featured the voices of Henry Winkler as Asterix, Rosey Grier as Obelix, Bill Martin as Prolix, Lucille Bliss as Bonemine, and more.
