ComingSoon is excited to debut the track “Let’s Go to Work” from the Yellowstone Season 5. V. 2—Original Series Soundtrack by Brian Tyler and Breton Vivian. Lakeshore Records will release the Yellowstone Season 5. V. 2 — Original Series Soundtrack on December 6, 2024. It is now available to pre-save.

Brian Tyler is an award-winning composer that has worked across a number of high-profile projects, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Crazy Rich Asians, The Fate of the Furious, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He has also worked with Taylor Sheridan on the Yellowstone spin-off series 1923.

Breton Vivian is an Emmy Award-nominated composer best known for his work on Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone. He’s also composed scores for the Yellowstone spin-offs 1883 and 1923, which also earned him Emmy nominations, among other award nominations, including the BMI Awards. He also composed the score for Guan Hu’s 2024 indie film Black Dog, as well as the feature film Five Feet Apart.

The series “chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States,” per the synopsis. “Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect — the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.”

Yellowstone is created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. The series currently stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly. It is executive produced by Costner, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, and Keith Cox. It is a production by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

“It has been such a dream continuing the saga of the Dutton family, and a pleasure seeing this body of work to its epic conclusion. Taylor Sheridan’s stunning vision for the world is an absolute treat for a composer,” said Tyler in a statement on the upcoming soundtrack. “As the stakes rise to even greater heights, so has the call for music that emotionally resonates with the trials and tribulations of our characters. I wanted to bring in a tonality of darkness and intensity that reflects a world of changing relationships, but also leaves space for rebirth and renewal. I wanted to handle John’s passing, a truly beloved character, with great care. It’s my hope that our wonderful audience sees this moment musically as both somber and haunting, while sensitively highlighting the betrayal and gravitational shift that such a moment brings. It has been one of the true great pleasures of my career working alongside Taylor Sheridan and Breton Vivian, two creatives for whom I have the utmost respect and trust — together we have created a beautiful piece of art that, I hope, will be cherished long after its conclusion.”
