AMC has released a new Mayfair Witches Season 2 teaser trailer, previewing the return of the supernatural horror thriller series based on the works of Anne Rice.

The trailer for the new season previews things picking up from the end of the first season. Rowan Mayfair (Alexandria Daddario) has given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston), and must now fight to protect her family after some things go wrong.

Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy of novels, Mayfair Witches hails from Masters of Sex’s Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, who both serve as writers and executive producers. The series stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan, Jack Huston as Lasher, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, and Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair. Season 2 will also introduced Alyssa Jirrels as Moira Mayfair, Ted Levine as Julien Mayfair, and Thora Birch and Gifford Mayfair.

The series revolves around an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.

The series adaptation’s first season consists of eight episodes produced by AMC Studios. Christopher Rice is executive producing on all projects based on his late mother’s iconic works, which were acquired by AMC Networks in 2020. This serves as the second project in the network’s expanding Anne Rice universe, following the Interview with the Vampire series.
