What to expect in Fallout Season 2?
Fallout is based on the popular video game franchise from Bethesda Game Studios. Fallout Season 1 is set over 200 years after the Great War of 2077, which forced Earth’s survivors to live underground in vaults. Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) is forced to leave her home, Vault 33, and find her kidnapped father on the surface.
Besides Purnell and Goggins, Fallout stars Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, and Xelia Mendes-Jones as Dane. One of the notable names joining for Season 2 is Macaulay Culkin, who will play a “crazy genius-type character.”
Fallout stems from executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with Nolan directing the first three episodes of Season 1. Executive producers Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as writers and co-showrunners. Additional executive producers include Athena Wickham of Kilter Films, Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios, and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks. Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films produce Fallout in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
Fallout Season 2 does not have a release date. However, Wagner promises that the Fallout creative team is moving quickly to film Season 2.
“We are going as fast as we possibly can, and we’ve got a lot of heavy lifting from Season 1 already done,” Wagner said in June. “We have sets, assets, visual effects, that are already done. We are hitting the ground running this season. We’re going to be pedal to the metal to get season two out as fast as humanly possible.”
Released in April, Fallout Season 1 garnered 16 Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. Stream Fallout Season 1 on Prime Video.
