Disney+ confirms development on Moving Season 2
Disney+ recently announced that Moving will be getting a Season 2 on the streaming platform’s content showcase, which took place in Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
According to Deadline, while announcing the news, Carol Choi, Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific’s Original Content Strategy Executive VP said, “Moving is an action fantasy series but at its core, it is a coming-of-age story about friendship, family, and human relationships. Last year, Moving recorded the highest views among Disney+ local content. We take pride in all the projects we recently released, and we cannot leave out Moving.”
Choi further added, “We thought that we couldn’t stop here. We will of course be working with Writer Kang Full again for Season 2.” Moving is based on the highly acclaimed webtoon of the same name, written by Kang Full. The narrative focuses on three students who have superpowers passed onto them by their parents.
As these students try to adapt to these powers, their parents put their all into protecting them from government organizations that want to exploit these gifts. The series went on for a total of 20 episodes on Disney+.
In 2023, the director of Moving, Park In Je, expressed his thoughts on the possibility of Season 2 of the series with The Hollywood Reporter. He stated that writer Kang Full had numerous stories from the same universe under his belt. In Je asserted that if he gets the chance to direct the second season he “will show you a much-upgraded version of everything you saw in season one.”
